36% of French people consume sugar every day, 21% several times a week.

60% use it in pastries, 40% in dairy products and 38% in coffee. Habits have evolved as fewer French people used it in recipes five years ago (55% in 2017) but 46% sweetened their coffee.

37% of French people feel that they consume too much sugar, especially those aged 35-44 (at 46%).
75% consider this consumption to be harmful to their health, with 20% believing it to be the main cause of obesity.

46% do not believe in the benefits of sugar substitutes, they were 37% in 2017.

86% of French people know the Daddy brand, making it the most popular signature ahead of Béghin-Say (81%) and Saint Louis (80%). Awareness of Daddy has risen by 9 points in five years. Its progression is even stronger among 18-24 year olds: 63% said they were familiar with it in 2017 compared to 81% in 2021.
