Lidl launches a responsible range of eggs

In 2020, Lidl stated its "zero deforestation, zero conversion of natural ecosystems and zero human exploitation" objectives by 2025. In partnership with its suppliers Galline Frais and Lœuf (Loué, Le Gaulois), the supermarket chain is taking a step forward this year. It is launching eggs from hens fed with vegetable proteins and oilseeds (peas, lupines, corn oil) of French or European origin.
 
This makes it possible to reduce the amount of imported soya by 50%. For the company, this is the first reference resulting from a working group on alternatives to soy from Brazil, conducted with the Earthworm Foundation.
